Agreement
By using the KiliRuta website, submitting a trip request, or confirming a booking with us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you are booking for a group, you confirm that you have authority to share traveller details and accept these terms on behalf of the group.
KiliRuta plans and coordinates Tanzania travel services. Some services, such as lodges, park entries, domestic flights, or specialist guides, are supplied by independent third parties under their own rules.
Enquiries and quotes
Website package pages, “from” prices, and trip summaries are guides, not guaranteed final offers. A binding trip arrangement begins only when we issue a written confirmation after deposit or agreed payment terms.
Quotes are based on the information you provide (dates, group size, nationality where relevant, lodge style, and route). Park fees, seasonal lodge rates, flight fares, and currency movements can change a quote before confirmation. We will tell you when an update affects your outline.
Bookings and payments
To secure services, we typically require a deposit followed by a balance before travel. Exact amounts, deadlines, and accepted payment methods are stated in your written quote or invoice.
- Deposits may be non-refundable once lodges, crews, or permits are reserved on your behalf.
- Late balance payments may delay confirmation or cause release of reserved services.
- Bank charges and transfer fees are usually the sender’s responsibility unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Changes and cancellations
If you need to change dates, lodges, group size, or route after confirmation, tell us as soon as possible. Changes depend on availability and supplier rules; extra costs may apply.
Cancellation terms depend on how close travel is and what has already been booked. Supplier cancellation fees (lodges, flights, park bookings, private crews) are passed through as incurred. We will outline the applicable policy in your confirmation documents.
Weather, park directives, road conditions, medical needs, or safety concerns may require us to adjust an itinerary. Where we must change a plan for operational or safety reasons, we aim for a fair alternative of similar character.
Travel documents, visas, and fitness
You are responsible for valid passports, visas, vaccination certificates, travel insurance, and any entry requirements for Tanzania or onward destinations. We can share practical guidance, but final compliance remains with each traveller.
Kilimanjaro climbs and some safari days are physically demanding. You should disclose relevant medical conditions before travel and carry suitable insurance that covers adventure activities where applicable.
On the ground
Wildlife viewing, mountain weather, ferry schedules, and park access are never fully predictable. Sightings, summit success, and exact timing cannot be guaranteed. Our teams work to keep the journey safe, clear, and well paced within those realities.
Guests are expected to follow guide and driver instructions, respect park and community rules, and treat staff, wildlife, and local hosts with care.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, KiliRuta is not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including weather, political events, strikes, epidemic restrictions, airline disruption, or supplier failure. We are also not responsible for personal injury, illness, loss of belongings, or trip interruption arising from a guest’s own decisions, undisclosed medical issues, or failure to follow safety guidance.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Our total liability connected to a booking is limited, where permitted, to the amount you paid to KiliRuta for that booking.
Website use
Website content is provided for general information about our journeys and destinations. You may not copy, scrape, or republish substantial parts of the site for commercial use without our written permission. Package names, photos, and trip copy remain protected by applicable intellectual property rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your place of residence. If a court finds any part unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
